we make it easier to stock local games!
Designed in the DMV wants to be part of a healthy local ecosystem of players, designers, and retailers. We value the ability of stores to curate games, introduce them to customers, and provide third spaces for gaming and discussion.
The catalog
Our catalog is designed to make stocking local games easier for retailers. It includes MSRPs, retailer pricing, and purchasing options. Many of our games are available through Indie Press Revolution, a sales network that allows retailers to purchase bundles of independently-published games from a single distributor. We also have some games available via local courier, which eliminates the cost of shipping and handling.
While we are open to all kinds of game designers, we have a particularly high number of role-playing games in our catalog. These games do well on shelves in bookstores and comic stores as well as in game stores.

Designed in the DMV Placards
These small placards are free to any retailer. You can put them on shelves to let customers know that a game is local.

EventsIf you’d like Designed in the DMV to hold an event at your store, or to come participate in an event you’re planning, reach out via email or Discord! In the past, we’ve done talks, workshops, playtests, run demos of our games, and held game fairs where we sell our work directly from tables. When holding a game fair, we either pay the host a flat rate per table or a percent of sales. We’re open to creative new ideas, as well.
